Position description
Engine performance development is an activity within R&D Testing & Performance.
As a Performance Expert regarding emissions you will work actively in teams to develop the Wärtsilä® four-stroke engine products ensuring successful emission concepts. The teams consist of test as well as design experts needing the performance expert input regarding both current and future technology possibilities. You will also work together with the rest of the performance team regarding development of tools and way-of-working as well as regarding development of the emission expertise area.
Responsibilities
- Act as project manager for emission related projects
- Plan, co-ordinate, as well as report results in emission research projects
- Support laboratory test teams as well as other stakeholders regarding emission related issues
- Develop our particulate and smoke measurement equipments for optimum usage
- Build up know-how regarding emission abatement options
- Develop way-of-working with stakeholders
- Execute long range and short term plans for emission performance development
Requirements
- MSc or DSc in mechanical engineering, chemistry, or equivalent
- Analytical, self-going team worker
- Good grip of emission reduction technologies and especially particulate abatement methods
- Some experience regarding combustion engines
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Can-do attitude
